There are over 20,000 species of wasps! These sometimes entirely black or even dark blue bodied flying insects are in phylum Arthropoda, class Insecta, and order Hymenoptera. Wasps may resemble bees; however, they have much different eating habits. Most wasps are carnivores (this means they eat meat) and in fact feed on other insects or even spiders.

Another fact you may want to familiarize yourself with, is that these winged or wingless stunners may have stingers! The female wasp has the stinger and she also has the ability to sting repeatedly. Although the male wasp lacks this feature, he still has a biting mouth part, "Ouch".
